‘యశోద’ తర్వాత సమంత ప్రధాన పాత్రలో తెరకెక్కిన మరో లేడీ ఓరియెంటెడ్ అండ్ పాన్ ఇండియా చిత్రం ‘శాకుంతలం’. గుణశేఖర్ దర్శకత్వంలో తెరకెక్కిన ఈ చిత్రం కాళిదాసు రచించిన ‘అభిజ్ఞాన శాకుంతలం’ ఆధారంగా తెరకెక్కింది. ఇది ఒక మైథలాజికల్ డ్రామా. శకుంతల- దుష్యంతుల.. మధ్య ప్రేమ కథ ఇదని చెప్పొచ్చు. ఇలాంటి కథతో గతంలో రెండు సినిమాలు వచ్చాయి. కానీ ఇది సమ్మర్ హాలిడేస్ ను టార్గెట్ చేసి.. 3D లో కనువిందు చేయడానికి రెడీ అయిన మూవీ.
టీజర్, ట్రైలర్, పాటలు పెద్దగా ఇంపాక్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేయలేదు కానీ.. ఈ మధ్య సమంత భీభత్సమైన ఫామ్లో ఉండటంతో ‘శాకుంతలం’ పై కొద్దిపాటి అంచనాలు ఏర్పడ్డాయి. ఇదిలా ఉండగా.. ఆల్రెడీ కొన్ని చోట్ల షోలు పడ్డాయి. సినిమాని చూసిన ప్రేక్షకులు ట్విట్టర్ ద్వారా తమ అభిప్రాయాన్ని తెలియజేస్తున్నారు. వారి టాక్ ప్రకారం.. ట్రైలర్ లో ఏదైతే చూపించారో అంతకు మించి కథ అయితే సినిమాలో లేదని ప్రేక్షకులు చెబుతున్నారు. ఫస్ట్ హాఫ్ బాగానే కంప్లీట్ అయినా..
సెకండ్ హాఫ్ చాలా ఫ్లాట్ గా బోర్ కొట్టించే విధంగా ఉందని వారు చెబుతున్నారు. సమంత లుక్స్ పరంగా ఆకట్టుకున్నా.. ఇలాంటి పాత్ర చేయడానికి చాలా ఇబ్బంది పడిందని, డబ్బింగ్ విషయంలో కూడా తడబడిందని అంతా భావిస్తున్నారు. ఆమెలో ఇంకా జెస్సీనే కనిపిస్తుంది కానీ ‘శకుంతల’ అయితే కనిపించలేదని కూడా అంటున్నారు.
దేవ్ మోహన్, మోహన్ బాబు లు చాలా బాగా నటించారని, వి.ఎఫ్.ఎక్స్ అంతగా బాలేదని, ఈ సినిమాకి 3D కూడా అవసరం లేదని కామెంట్లు పెడుతున్నారు. మణిశర్మ మ్యూజిక్ కూడా హైలెట్ అని అంటున్నారు.
